RE: Sirius & XM Radio Updates

I must be listening to different station on Sirius. Have not found any DJ's running off at the mouth. Any classic rock station. 14,15,16,19,23 if I remember correctly. Not only are they always babbling, they also talk over the beginning and end of songs. They talk about off topic stuff like baseball and many topics are X rated. I canceled over a year ago.

RE: Sirius & XM Radio Updates

I agree. I got rid of them also. I got tired of all the babbling idiot DJ's and commercials on Sirius. Put the MP3 player in any vehicle I drive and it is all good music all the time with no commercial interruptions. ;)

RE: FIOS by Verizon. WOW!!!

What is the monthly charge and how long of a contract? Thanks. They are running deals all the time so you may want to check here to see what they have in your area http://www22.verizon.com/ On the East coast I was paying $77 a month for an ATT land line and another $55 for internet over the cable for a total of $132. The Verizon bundled phone and internet after my one year discount period will be $46 for the phone with caller ID, call waiting, voice mailbox etc. and $53 for the 20 Mbps download /5 Mbps upload internet for a total of $99. You can save five dollars on the phone if you don't want the extras.Holly Cow ! What all were you getting on your phone bill for $77 per month ? My land line is $48 per month including 5.0M DSL and I complain about that.

RE: Wind generators

capacity of 1.8 KW and a rotor of 12 feet has the ability to produce an estimated 400 KWh when the wind is breezing at a mere 12 mph. A mere 12 MPH ! That is a pretty good breeze.

RE: Forced into Vista

More and more new hardware is coming out without XP drivers. You can blame compaq/hp but they don't make the chipsets, they just package them.So by that way of thinking if GM sells you a new car with a radio package in it (which they do not manufacture) and it only plays CD's that utilize the new XYZ music format, it is not GM's fault ?

RE: A new Coffee Maker ??

Mine drips about 1 cup out onto the counter and the other cup probably leaks onto the hot plate and boils off. It looks like Black and Decker should have stuck with drills and saws.

RE: Picking up my new Seneca

>>751 key for outside entertainment center Say, what size TV is in those fancy Seneca outside entertainment center, I have about 20 of those 751 keys laying around ... and could maybe put one to good use some dark night. I'm joking! I'm joking. Although I think that Allegro Bus outside entertainment center had a 42 inch Plasma next to me the other day. I wonder what key fits that. Hmmmm Congrats on your new rig.The outside entertainment center has a 39¢ Cd/radio in it. You would be doing someone a favor to remove it. The 110 GFCI receptacle next to it is probably worth more. :)

RE: DTV conversion

I went ought and bought two converter boxes yeasterday and hooked one of them up today. I get more channels than I did without it but I don't get all of the same ones that I had. I going to play with it in a little bit.The bigger problem is when you go camping where you used to only get a few snowy but watchable channels you will now get none. Why? I would think that I would get more.Because the DTV signal does not travel as far. With DTV you either have a strong enough signal to get it or you get nothing. I have tested it in several locations where we get watchable analog signals (not perfect) but get 0 DTV or a few spanish channels. This is going to be a problem for all of us that do not camp near to the city.

RE: Adding an LCD TV

I am going to do the same myself but found the following to attach the tv. I will make a wood base and mount the bracket on the bottom of the cabinet (bottom is much more solid than back or sides of mine) then use bungee cords or something similiar to keep the tv from moving when in motion. tv mountThank You I have been looking for something like that for my install.

RE: A new Coffee Maker ??

I sure hope it works better than their last attempt at an under counter model. I got two about 6 months ago and the pot lip is so poorly designed that you can't pour the first 3 cups of coffee without significant spillage. I even called them and they sent a new pot just like the original. It was so bad that as a joke anyone new around was always asked to pour the first cup. No one ever did it without spilling. I found an old Mr. Coffee pot lying around as a replacement for one and the other one I modified the lip with a heat gun. Guessing where they were made, maybe tea would pour better. :)

RE: TV Purchase Selection Criteria Help Needed

Just wanted to say thanks to everybody. I don't take Consumer Reports but I think I will go to library and check it out...I hope to get a good deal on a recommended type on Black Friday early in the morning...I would bet with the economy in the condition it is in that you will be able to buy any TV you like at Black Friday type pricing between now and X-mas. I am looking also at 32" and there sure are a lot of things to consider. I also am leaning toward one with the built in DVD player. That would be one less box to carry around.

RE: Kodiac SuperSteer Trac Bar upgrade

On a trip, we pulled off the interstate into a gas station getting significant side-to-side motion from all the pot holes in a short gravel frontage road entrance. I'm soon pumping gas and in comes a Super-C. My heart skipped a beat. I wondered if he was going to end up on his side. That RV was begging for HD sway bars. That sounds like a need for proper rear springs and or shocks. That is not the job of the sway bar under the conditions you described.

RE: Kodiac SuperSteer Trac Bar upgrade

Only problem is price. I made a few inquiries and it appears to cost a bundle. That is the problem with all these expensive bolt ons. They better make you happy now, because when you go to trade the unit in they are not worth 1¢ extra. If you add something expensive like that you better run it till the wheels fall off or take it off before trade in and hope to FleaBay it. How much where the complete kits ?

RE: Electric cooling rad fan verse a clutch fan

I am now in the process of installing a 5 ft length of copper fuel line feed to my my holley tbi and running it close to the motor "not exhaust" so the motor heat will heat the fuel and help vaporize the fuel better to gain more mpg's,, this has worked well with others I have read about on the net,, vaporized fuel has more power and uses less fuel,, will let you know how this works... That is a bunch of baloney. Cold un vaporized gas will make more power and better mileage.

RE: Kodiac SuperSteer Trac Bar upgrade

Has anyone just got rid of the leaf springs and gone with the full air ride suspension ? It almost seems like putting all these expensive band aids on the rear that you are almost to the price of the air ride. The air ride has the sway and trac control built in. Something like this.Link

RE: wireless weather station

Also look into Davis. I have not been impressed with the LaCrosse products I have purchased or their tech support. The phone line is busy and they do not answer e-mails. I have a wired Davis and a friend has a many year old wireless Davis. Both of us are well satisfied.

RE: Kodiac SuperSteer Trac Bar upgrade

================================= My total cost was a little over $4,000. The first step is an evaluation ride (~$150) with you riding "shotgun". So they charge you $150 to sell you $4,000 worth of parts and labor ? WOW

Opening POI's in S&T 2009

When trying to open POI's thru the Data tab I can not figure out how to add the Push Pins in different colors. As an example, I plan a route then want to add Flying J POI's and they come up all red. Then I want to add all Pilot POI's and then they also come up red. I think I remember in 2007 version I could change the colors of each added POI. Any suggestions ? Thanx

RE: After TV goes all digitial will the range increase?

I live out in the country with a rooftop antenna. When I hooked up the converter box I lost 3 channels. Guess I will give Satelite a try in Feb.That is what the satellite and cable companies are banking on. They were behind this changeover 1000% all along. They knew how many people it would force to their services.
